Brought back memories of his partnership with Maxwell from the 2023 ODI WC match against Afghanistan albeit in a totally different format and match situation.
Spotted a small typo in the 7th from last paragraph...should read "...in 27 overs..." within "The session produced 143 runs in 27 runs for the loss of Cummins."
Thanks for the catch, Amit -- corrected it now. And yes, I totally agree about Cummins. It was always likely Smith would continue where he left off -- the key was whether India could break through at the other end, but Cummins put paid to that slender chance with the way he batted.
Also an object lesson for Indian selectors, there. Cummins can hold his own with the bat -- but he is a seriously good strike bowler who works on his batting, not a batsman who can bowl up and down stuff.
