I'm not as much worried about the stupidity of the Indian voters (although it is worrisome) as much as about the manipulation of the EVMs. I thought that the courts were interested in this question, but don't know whether the bureaucrats have quelled the worry.

The case is scheduled to be heard on April 14. Whether something will come of it or no is moot -- this case has in various forms been doing the rounds of the Supreme Court since at least 2018, when Subramanian Swamy filed the first petition against EVMs.

Has the ruling party mastered the art of manipulation (it is not a complicated thing) as they have done with the main stream media

Sounds logical and I wish this comes true. Will certainly puncture the ego balloon across the Modi bhakts (<20% of the population)

Are u mad or something Prem ji? For a knowledgeable person to write like this! "BJP cannot hold its own against SP+INC" When it did the same with SP+BSP+RLD? How stupid and idiotic is that notion? BJP could sweep Karnataka but BJP+JDS are going to lose? What kind of a tomfoolery is this? And when was BJP in alliance with BJD for the 2019 polls that you are saying that now BJD has turned it's back on its ally? Sheer idiocy.

I don't respond to intemperate language.

Dont but just respond to the facts of the case.

1. BJP can win against SP+BSP+RLD+INC but cant win against SP+INC. How?

2. BJP can win against INC and JDS coalition but BJP+JDS gonna lose against INC. How?

3. BJP was against BJD in 2019 and same in 2024. So no change there. Then how can you say that BJD turned its back on its ally?

1. In 2019 the Congress was practically non-existent on the ground and the SP was busy in a fratricidal fight. Five years have passed, ground realities have changed. Eastern UP is witnessing a Haryana spillover. In Western UP, the Rajputs are chasing BJP candidates away.

2. Last time the campaign was led by BS Yedyurappa -- who the BJP high command, after first kicking him out for corruption, had to go back to for help. His star began to wane -- the BJP lost the previous assembly election and had to engineer defections to get back to power in Karnataka. 2019, despite BSY, the BJP lost the assembly by a thumping margin. And now, BSY is fighting a strong party rebel for his son's survival in Shikaripura, while the BJP no longer has a leader of similar stature at the ground level. Oh and HDK's last reported statement was, "The future of the alliance depends on how the BJP treats us". Again -- times have changed, prompting change in ground realities.

3. All of February and the first half of March, Amit Shah was shuttling to Odisha to tie up with Naveen Patnaik -- who, during NDA2, had helped the BJP pass several contentious bills. Hence, ally, both past and future. Patnaik finally turned the proposal down when the BJP, according to the BJD, asked for too much.

All of that said -- I have my own read of the situation, which is what I write in my space. You have yours, and that is fair, go for it.

BTW, in your question, there are no "facts" and this is not a "case". All you are arguing is, this happened five years ago, how can you say this won't happen again? Think about that for a moment -- and while you are about it, compare the economic situation, the "surgical strikes", all of that from five years ago to what it is now, and add massive corruption the public can finally wrap its head around to the mix. Might explain why I read what I do. Cheers, stay safe.
