I run to the montage of our girls winning the semis. I cry so hard at the winning moments. I cannot wait to see whats next. I did see few boys in finals wearing 'Smriti' T Shirt. I will order Jemimah T shirt though. Am Biased.

Oh by the way Prem, you continuing to share your writing with us is something none of your readers take for granted. Thank you so much for letting us know what we feel.

Thank you for reading — we write because we must, but feedback is what let’s us know these are not just words in a void.

So many very good young cricket writers mushrooming. I hope they become as good as you some day. But they're still not there.

Thank you. :-) You are right, plenty of young voices coming through, and in time they will get even better than the old-timers. Takes a while to develop your voice to perfect pitch, so in the meantime, we owe them our time, and our encouragement.

BCCI must reward ₹10 crore to each winning playing member of Indian women's cricket ODI World Cup team.

I'd rather the BCCI realize just what this means, and begins pumping money into the women's game. Domestic tournaments, more frequent international engagements, dedicated facilities all over the country... Sure, reward this team, shower crores on them, they deserve it all. But the board needs to see this as an inflexion point, and act.

Couldn’t agree more with you re:1983. Infact I sent a friend Lehra Do right when Wolvaardt got out.

Thought, I think you meant Kapp, not Wolvaardt, as the one who played her last WC.

I hope so as well. Laura is only 26 years old! I thought there was some news that I might have missed.

The confusion about Laura could well be because I read some take from SA, prior to the tournament, that some of the seniors could well be playing their last WC -- and along with the likes of Kapp and Luus, the take also mentioned Laura. Ignore it -- I hope that is just some inebriated take.

I think that fact that Laura has been playing for so long makes her feel like a senior. :) I really hope she plays for a long time to come.
