Each time I think I am back and bedded down at my home base in Bangalore, it turns out I am wrong.
While the country marinates in political and societal toxins, I ended up neck-deep in a swamp of unexpected activity — a four-week-long writing/editing, a bunch of essential reading for author interactions I am doing, or have done, a heap of edits of some complexity… Life, someone once said, is what happens to you while you are making other plans.
All of this is prelude to a trip to Chennai 23rd to 29th, both days inclusive, to sort out some family issues and, hopefully, clear the decks so I can get back to Bangalore and focus on what I want to do, rather than what I am having to do.
Bottomline, this newsletter remains in the deep freeze till the end of the month. My apologies. I’d like to promise that once I am back, I’ll be able to get back to regular updates — but you and I both know what happened the last time I made that promise, so I’ll desist, wait till I am back, and see what life is like from there on.
Till later — be well.
Prem the wait, like absence, will make the heart grow fonder. As a fellow Bangalore vaasi with Chennai family responsibilities I empathize. We’ll miss you but do take care and be kind to yourself
Looking forward to your return but also hoping you get some time for rest and recuperation!
